What is a tag and why is it useful?
A tag is a keyword or term that helps describe an item and allows it to be found again by browsing or searching.
Tags can be added to companies in your address book to aid the search-ability of different categories of contacts.
Example: a member of your project team has created a bid package for electrical services and would like to begin inviting contractors to quote on the related works.
Without tags, your colleague would have to know the name of each electrical contractor off the top of their head, before selecting them individually and sending out the invitations.
If a tag, let's call it "Electrical services", was placed on each electrical contractor in your organisations address book, your colleague would simply type "Electrical services" in to the contractor search dialog. This would display a list of all electrical contractors, which your colleague could add individually, or all at once by clicking the "ADD ALL" button.
Example: using a tag to search for electrical services contractors.
Add a tag to a company
To add a tag, click in to a company, type your tag in to the "Tags" field and hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard.
You can add multiple tags to any company in your address book.
Note: you must add contacts to your company before adding a tag.
